Taking care of your hips is important for the health of your whole body, since restrictions to movement around the hips can have effects up and down the chain, potentially affecting the lower back, neck, knees, or ankles. While a dedicated yoga practice is helpful for improving pain, maintaining the health of your spine and joints, and building strength and flexibility, there are other techniques you can add to your self-care skill set to better manage pain and stiffness, and free tension held in muscles that aren’t allowing the hips and spine to move as they should. This 3-hour workshop will focus on effective stretching techniques, therapeutic self-massage, and progressive mobility sequences for improving your flexibility, reducing aches and pains, and feeling better in your body. Come and learn what makes the Stretch Therapy system effective for identifying and releasing your unique tension patterns, reducing aches and pains, and exploring ways to encourage relaxation and range through the muscles around the hips.We'll use different techniques in working our way through the hips and lower back, learning how to unlock tension to access new ranges of motion, and build strength through that range. We'll practice different breathing techniques to create space in the body, calm the nervous system, and for you to get the most out of your time spent stretching.This workshop is suitable for all bodies, ages, and fitness/flexibility levels. With attendance capped at 10 people, you’re guaranteed to get lots of personal attention, hands-on help, and to leave with a better understanding of your body and how to start making changes

The session will close with a guided meditation to bring you to a state of deep post-stretch relaxation.
